Day 4

Talk to a non-Christian friend or family member about what you’ve been learning about Jesus, the Messiah, these past several weeks. You don’t have to preach a sermon—just talk naturally. You can bring it up simply, by saying something like: “I went to an awesome event called believe and I keep thinking about the stuff we learned there. Can I tell you about it?” Or “We’ve been learning some really cool stuff in youth group and it’s been on my mind today.” Then tell your friend one of the things you’ve learned and ask him or her what they think.

Day 3

Use a washable marker to “tattoo” yourself with a cross by drawing one on your

ankle, bicep, wrist, or foot. Throughout the day today, think about what it means to identify yourself with Jesus’ death on the cross—being marked with the cross means He’s bought you and redeemed you for a new life. Ask God to remind you throughout the day to live the new life He’s redeemed you for.

Day 2

Take some time on your own to walk through the verses from Romans that you looked at briefly with your youth group. Read the following verses in order (and, if you want, underline them in your Bible): Romans 3:9; 3:23-25; 5:1; 7:6; 8:18; 12:2; and 15:5. Think about how they’re all connected—and what they mean in your own life.

Day 1

You’ve got just one study to go in this series on the Messiah! So far you’ve learned that the Messiah is the Priest, the King, the Servant, the Son of God, the Lord, the Savior, the Word, and the Redeemer. Create your own unique free verse poem by listing each of these pictures of the Messiah down the side of a sheet of paper. Next to each one, write words, phrases, or ideas that express what that image of the Messiah means to you personally. When you’re done, read what you’ve written and turn it into a prayer.

Day 4

Go to www.biblegateway.com and look up John 1:1-14 in The Message. Print it out and read through the whole thing, then text or email somebody from your youth group and let ‘em know which word or phrase stands out to you most and why.

Day 3

To help yourself focus on your hunger for Jesus—and the reality that only He truly satisfies—fast from a meal or a normal snack today. Simply don’t eat. (If you want, drink water or juice.) Think about how the physical hunger you feel can be a sym- bol for you of your soul’s hunger for God. Focus on Him in prayer when you feel hungry.
